Vision Statement

Athens is the place where philosophy and the arts blossomed. Historically, it is the first city in the world where the concepts of freedom and democracy were generated and were developed within its own political system. The freedom from uncontrolled power, the freedom of expression of ideas and the freedom for personal evolution was always focused on a common unity with common interests, with a balanced liberty for the individual as an over-riding link. In Athens the meaning of individual contribution to the common good was developed as a personal responsibility of the citizens vis-a-vis the community they were part of, and not merely as a need for survival.

We are contributing to the creation of the World of Athens, one world dominated by the concept of democracy. A world of freedom, of participation, of values, of stability, of responsibility and respect. A world in which ideas are born, exchanged, debated and act as bridges joining citizens from the entire planet for a better world.
